The Burning Crusade and Cataclysm both involve tons of running, disjointed story lines and antiquated mechanics, so unless you're nostalgic for those zones' experience from your first time around, it's best to avoid them now.īased on personal experience, it takes about twice the amount of time to level through The Burning Crusade compared to Warlords. Or try the underrated Mists of Pandaria, which has a sedate leveling style and easygoing quest progression reminiscent of the Pandaren race it introduced. If you just want to get lost in the story and meander for 50 levels, consider Wrath of the Lich King, which packs some of the best lore in the game into a single expansion, but can be slow to level in. But Battle for Azeroth isn't terrible for quest density either (particularly the Drustvar zone for Alliance and Nazmir for Horde) while offering the combination of modern quest mechanics and story integration. Legion's also a terrific expansion in terms of story and zone design. If you're determined to level quickly, Warlords of Draenor or Legion offer great quest density, meaning you don't have to run far and therefore tend to level faster. This means you're going to be moving slowly for a while. You pick up the epic riding skill at 20 and flying at 30 (with no special attunements required for any expansion's zones). You start in these zones as a tiny level 10 with the slow ground-mount riding skill. Just make sure you come equipped with the weapon you want to level up! 2.Which expansion should you choose? To some degree, that depends on your priorities. Still, if you can get in the groove of finishing back-to-back contracts, this can be a decent source of XP. Overall, this method works well enough, but there are a lot of opportunities for error, so it’s not as consistent. But given how large Caldera is, you might get unlucky with Supply Run spawns, or you could even get shot down. This can be effective if you have a teammate who knows what they’re doing. The more you complete, the more XP you’ll earn, as you gain a multiplier for each contract you finish. Have your teammate jump out while you land the helicopter, and move on to the next one. The best method is to have at least one player join you in a helicopter, as you fly around to each destination.

The main method of earning weapon XP on Caldera is to hop into a Plunder match to complete Supply Run contracts. Fly around to complete Supply Run contracts on Caldera to earn weapon XP.
